Frequently asked.

What is the difference between monoblock, 2-piece, and 3-piece wheels?

A monoblock (1-piece) wheel is machined from a single forged blank — clean, lightweight, and structurally simple. A 2-piece wheel pairs a forged face with a separate forged barrel, bolted together; this allows custom widths, offsets, and lip/concavity choices the monoblock cannot match. A 3-piece wheel splits the barrel into inner and outer halves with the face mounted between them, giving the widest range of fitment, deeper stepped lips, and a fully rebuildable construction favored by collectors.

What does "forged" mean and why does it matter?

Forging compresses a solid billet of aircraft-grade aluminum under thousands of tons of pressure, aligning the grain structure for dramatically higher strength than cast wheels. The result is a lighter, stiffer, and more impact-resistant wheel — meaningful gains in steering response, braking, and unsprung mass for performance and luxury vehicles alike.

Are Mone Forged wheels made to order?

Yes. Every set is built to order in limited batches. Face design, width, offset, concavity, hardware, and finish are all specified per commission. We do not hold stock inventory — each wheel is machined and finished for one client, one vehicle.

How does custom wheel fitment work?

Proper fitment is calculated from your vehicle's hub bore, bolt pattern, suspension geometry, brake clearance, fender clearance, and desired stance. We take the diameter and width you want, then specify the exact offset (ET) and backspacing so the wheel clears the caliper and fills the fender without rubbing on the strut, fender liner, or arch lip at full lock or full compression.

How do I measure my wheel wells for proper fitment?

With the vehicle at ride height and wheels straight, measure the distance from the hub mounting face outward to the fender lip (this caps your overall width + offset), inward to the strut or coilover (this caps inner barrel clearance), and from the hub face to the inside of the caliper (this sets minimum backspacing). Record front and rear separately, and note any camber. Why are wheel and tire combinations important?

A wheel is only as good as the tire wrapping it. Section width, sidewall height, load rating, and tread profile all affect stretch, poke, ride quality, speedometer accuracy, and how the finished package sits in the fender. The wrong tire on a correctly-spec'd wheel can ruin the stance and the drive. We strongly advise consulting with us before ordering tires so the wheel, tire, and vehicle work together as one package.

Do you offer fitment consultation?

Yes — every commission begins with a consultation. Share your vehicle, suspension setup, and the look you're after, and we'll spec the wheel, recommend tire sizing, and confirm clearances before any aluminum is cut. Reach out through the Contact page to start.
